Tofino-Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Luncheon Series
Our annual chamber luncheon series, runs from October to June. It has proven to be a very successful tool for networking with fellow chamber members and connecting with opportunities and information. Several chamber members have participated in some excellent presentations and topics in 2011 including; the West Coast Multi-Plex Society, "Force of Nature" Ambassador Program, District of Tofino Emergency Services, Hiring Foreign Workers Program, Wrongful Dismissal, the Tofino Higher Learning Initiative and much more. President Don Travers will bring the membership up to speed with happenings, upcoming events and initiatives being led by the Chamber of Commerce.
Announcements: Kim Johnston, Raincoast Education Society
Kim is looking forward to talking to the membership about a bulk buying program that would help cut down on plastics in the environment. The program would look at ordering water bottles (stainless steel or glass) in bulk and having the resorts use the water bottles on site rather than using bottled water. Kim will have some price points and prototypes available for chamber members to consider at their Feb. 22nd meeting.

Newly Elected Tofino Mayor Perry Schumnk will be introduced to the Tofino-Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Membership.

Amy Crook will be providing a short preview of the environmental mining forum being held on the evening of February 22cnd. Amy has worked as a technical expert on the Fish Lake/Prosperity Mine Environmental Review.
